The palm oil industry in South East Asia has been the focus of attention for labour issues for many years and more widely there is concern about how the treatment of individuals and communities providing labour, both documented and undocumented, leaves them vulnerable to range of undesirable and harmful forces.

To support the ongoing efforts of civil society and other stakeholders to improve and protect the vulnerable and support the victims, we are working to identify and develop increased transparency and knowledge of such activities, develop practice guidance and legal and risk analysis for stakeholders, and help increase the accountability of bad actors so that good actors may thrive to create a better quality of industry and protection of those providing their labour.
